Sunday October 28th was a day to remember for anyone in Chuldow who loves their weaponry as it was of course the Chuldow Weapons Seminar and Graduation. Three unique individuals had more cause to remember it however as they were assessed for Black Belt promotions. Gaining his 1st Dan Black Belt in Jo Jutsu (short staff) was Samuel Kirwin who showed that with the right training and lots of practice a simple piece of wood can be a deadly weapon. David O’Regan and Sandra Hardy, both Iaidoka (Iaido is the art of drawing the sword) demonstrated their skill in the unique art of Iaido which requires an impressive dexterity and attention to fine detail in its movements. David O’Regan being successful in achieving his 1st Dan Black Belt after considerable practice, Sandra Hardy however has been studying the sword for much longer and showed that even the high standard of 1st Dan is just the starting point and was successful in achieving the rank of 2nd Dan Iaido.

Well done all.
