The weekend of Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd of September 2018 , a normal weekend for many but a very special weekend for a select few special people.

Saturday saw the potential Black Belt and Advanced Dan candidates of Chuldow Kickboxing take to the mats at Wakefield Headquarters to be put through their paces in the hope of promotion. Hours of sweaty effort later and Geoff Walkinshaw, Claire Elliott, Marae Sykes, Ben Wood, Stuart Stead, Connor Boon and Matthew Wood were successful in proving themselves worthy of promotion to 1st Dan Black Belt. Meanwhile Brendan Chadwick and Sandra Hardy but pushed past this already high standard to prove themselves equal to the challenge of achieving 2nd Dan Black Belt.

As usual Sunday was the turn of the Karateka to be tested and tested they were. Hours of physical and mental effort; each required to show the technical skill and knowledge required of a Karate Black Belt and Fisher Doulson, Chris Grace, Andy Boyes, Lynne Clarke, Anjana Ganatra, Lily Pham, Julie Dyson-Abad, Antony Firth, Lewis Powers and Nathan Swift were each successful in gaining 1st Dan Black Belt in Karate.

It takes years of consistent effort to gain a Black Belt in Karate, it takes more years and more effort to progress beyond it but Logan Durham, Kayleigh Durham, Alistair O’Regan and Lavanya Ganatra had done just that and were rewarded for their efforts with promotion to 2nd Dan Black Belt in Karate.

Well done all!
