This group of black belts today proved that junior students can work as hard if not harder than adults, the juniors worked just as hard as the seniors and the seniors set the standard high.  Johnathan showed pure class in his technical abilities and Helen showed determination is a powerful tool.  This group were an inspiration to watch and seem to feed off each others energy.  An excellent performance from each and every one of you. I look forward to having these Juniors back on the mat soon when they turn adult.

Black Belt Graduations Aug 2011

This weekend we have had kickboxing and karate graduations, congratulations to all those who have graduated this time. The standard in both kickboxing and karate was very high and all those who graduated worked very hard.

Now a special mention to the new Black Belts:

Well done to Jai Twitchett from the Morley Academy who attained his Cadet 1stDan Black Belt in Kickboxing, what a star! Jai is one of the younger members of the Kickboxing yet his skill, focus and drive carried him through his graduation, what proud parents he made! Well done Katie Bardon who attained her 2ndDan Black Belt in Kickboxing, Katie’s graduation continued after everybody else was presented, she was pushed , encouraged and pushed some more yet her techniques remained outstanding and her determination to give 100% never faulted. Superb Achievement to both Jai and Katie!

Well done and Congratulations to Cam Hauer, Katie Chapman, Ammar Iqbal and Lucy Herbert, who all attained Cadet 1st Dan in Karate!

The group of children who took their black belts today have worked closely together as they advanced through the belts, supporting each other and at the same time enjoying their martial arts with a great group of friends, they have all made each other stronger in their journey of attaining black belt. The kids were impressive within this graduation, they worked just as hard as the adults and demonstrated a high standard of skill, focus and desire throughout, they worked extra hard because although young in age wanted to achieve the goal that had been set….Black Belt!

The adults were a pleasure to assess, each individual started martial arts for a different reason and martial arts has helped many deal with life and problems it throws at them, today these adult were  strong, confident and skilled martial artists who deserve their new grade. To commit yourself to a sport later in life is admirable, balancing work, children and home life is hard then adding a sport which requires commitment and hard training to that makes a remarkable person.

Congratulations to Elsie Wilson, Jane Cooper, Scott Barker, Kevin Clancy, Barry Glover and Shareen Lawton, who all gained 1st Dan in Karate.

Also well done to Jake Normington, Vivek Majumder and Jack Wilson, who graduated to senior 2nd Dan. These young men have taken the big step from Cadet to Senior, you impressed the graduation panel and should be extremely proud, many quit along the way…does that make you better than them YES IT DOES!!!

An extended congratulations to Mr Gavin Evans Instructor of Morley and South Kirkby, he set the standard high and work harder than he thought he could, he was a big support for his students and the perfect role model. Great effort and determination today Mr Evans. Congratulations on achieving your 2nd Dan in Karate !

Congratulations to you all, a superb standard shown by all. Learning does not stop at Black Belt; it’s just a new chapter!

Mr Hauer would like to express his gratitude and appreciation to Mr Bell for all the hard work he has put into the students to get them where they are now and also for heading the graduation panel in such a professional manner. In short Mr Bell you are a star, thanks from all at Chuldow.
