The weekend of March 11th & 12th saw more potential black belts and advanced Dans hit the mats at Chuldow HQ to see if their hard work would pay off.
Starting with kickboxing on the Saturday the room was buzzing with energy as the graduation got underway. Hours of sweat and effort later Jordan Wilkinson (Wakefield), Kayleigh Durham (Knottingley), Richard Burton (Knottingley), Robert Dowell (Rothwell), Alex Caley (Rothwell) and Chris Woodhead (Morley) were all rewarded with their 1st Dan Black Belts in Kickboxing. Standing out from the crowd though was Kian Lafferty (Knottingley) who pushed the limits of ability and endurance and achieved his 3rd Dan.
Karate followed on the Sunday with the technical displayed by Matthew Anderson (Rothwell), Kirby Beach (Knottingley), Caridee Armstrong-Livseyt (Knottingley) and Sarah Lofthouse (Thornhill) earning them 1st Dan in Karate. Natalie Colley (Wakefield), Jaye Ridley (Wakefield) and Mark Meiningen (Knottingley) were pushed further however. Mrs Colley to achieve her 2nd Dan while Mr Ridley and Mr Meiningen both went to the extreme and achieved 3rd Dan.
The presentations as always were emotional and in some cases tearful and as always elation was mixed with relief. An addition to Sunday’s event Mr Hauer also presented Chuldow Certificates to the recently promoted Taekwon-Do Black Belts; Claire Elliott, Kirsty East and Simon East.
