Sunday 26th of February 2017 saw three brave souls attempt black belt at the first Chuldow Weapons Seminar of 2017.

Nigel Watts of Morley and Sandra Hardy of Wakefield both demonstrating their skill and knowledge in the Sai whilst Martin Bell of Wakefield took to the mats with his sights set firmly on the goal of achieving black belt with the Kama. Skill with the weapon adds a dimension to the martial arts that requires dexterity and focus of a whole new level and the candidates demonstrated a skill possible only through many hours of practice and hard work.

The graduation progressed with lower grades gradually leaving the mats until only the three remained. Black belt kata were performed followed by the fifty move creative kata, a kata of their own design. Each was different and unique but the skill was evident across the board. Congratulations to Chuldow’s sai and kama black belts!
